NHF and HFA,
I am an Executive Board Member and Treasurer for the Gateway Hemophilia Association and I am writing to express my whole-hearted support of the future direction and focus area statements outlined in the recent CSO letter that followed the Aug 5-6 meeting in St. Louis.
I feel the CSO voting seat on both the NHF and HFA boards, in particular, will be a key enabler to a successful merger. The representatives will have critical roles in driving alignment and accountability across the organizations. Additionally, the transparent and strategic selection of interim leaders will be equally as impactful to success over the 2 year transition timeframe.
Locally, our board continuously discusses Advocacy, Chapter Support, Fundraising, Programming, and Research. I was excited to see these items as a key focus for the broader community and again, fully support the efforts in these areas.
Lastly, the opportunity to ‘grow the pie’ through building strength-on-strength and operating as one unified voice for bleeding disorders will position both organizations and the entire community to be more effective and financially strong.
